Group 0+

This is your first stage car seat for your baby and will be the first seat that they are introduced to. This particular group will suit your baby from birth until 13kg (29lbs) and this will sit rearwards onto you seats within your car. This group will last your baby roughly 12 to 15 months, however, this does depend upon the size and weight of your little one so make sure you weigh them regularly to keep an eye on this.

Your baby is able to move into a forward facing seat from a minimum of 9kg, however, the safest option is to keep your baby rearward facing for as long as possible. You will know that your baby has outgrown their Group 0+ car seat when their head is level with the top of the seat, or when they have reached the maximum weight limit. Group 0+ car seats can be fitted through your vehicles safety belt or through an Isofix base (dependent on whether one is available for your chosen car seat).

Group 1

This group follows on from the next group, however these seats are forward facing. This group begins at 9 kg and finishes at 18kg, roughly lasting your child until they are 4 years old. Car seats within this group will feature a secure safety harness, the type of harness, either 3 point or 5 point will vary from the particular brand you choose to buy from. These can be installed using your vehicles seat belt or through Isofix connection points (if the seat is fitted with them).

Many parents find it more convenient to have their child forward facing as it is easier to keep an eye on them whilst you’re on the road, however, you must ensure that your child is at least 9kg to be moved into any forward facing seat.

Group 2 & 3 Car Seats

At BabySecurity we know your little ones want to be exactly like Mummy and Daddy and their big brothers and sisters and sit in the car without a car seat, especially when they’re near the age and height when they don’t need one. This is why it is so important to choose a Group 2 & 3 seat that will make them feel comfortable and relaxed.

Group 2 & 3 Car Seats are suitable from 15kg until 36kg, or until your child is 135cm tall. This particular group will provide your child with a padded seat for added comfort, an adjustable backrest and enhance head and shoulder protection. Your child will be secured into the seat using the car safety belt, which will protect your little one from an impact.

Combination Car Seats
