Baby Monitor – A necessary Baby Safety Product? A baby breathing effort monitor, or apnoea alarm such as the Respisense Ditto or Snuza, are designed to alert you if your baby breathing movement appears to stop. These Baby Monitors will sound an alarm after approximately 15 seconds if no movement is detected and trigger a full alarm after 20 seconds (5 further seconds) if still no breathing movement. In general a healthy full-term baby or normal weight should not be susceptible to any problems that will worry parents and a good quality baby monitor provides additional peace of mind.
