I bought this to keep my puppy from escaping through the front door. It is a good quality product and works effectively 95% of the time. I noticed that very occassionally it does not automatically shut. There was one ocassion when the door was open very wide, and the automatic closing mechanism did not kick in, in another, I had not let the gate swing back under its own steam (so maybe that was my fault). Even given these comments, I would thoroughly recommend the product. Just be aware that it is probably best to not trust anything 100%. Installation was straightforward...even by me :-).

Good product although even after altering several times the top section dooes nott always lock so you have to mess around with it a bit.

Used to keep toddler safe playing in bedroom or playroom without having to shut the door, so cats can also go in and out. Am in two minds about the automatic closing - on one hand gives you peace of mind as you know it's always shut, but sometimes annoying if I'm carrying things in both hands and have to put something down to open the gate.
